Galette Des Rois / Epiphany King Cake

It has been a French tradition to celebrate Epiphany since medieval times with a fluffy Frangipane pastry adorned by a thin golden crust.
Inside the cake lays a small porcelain figurine; whoever has it becomes King or Queen and you receive a crown! Kids go under the table as part of the game, to pick who gets the first slice and so on, while adults make sure the figurine went to the little ones. The crown is provided with the cake.
